SOSBRAZILKIDS

Jonatas Dias is the founder and executive director of Sosbrazilkids, a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to supporting children and youth in vulnerable situations.

Johnny and his family were missionaries in the United States for many years, providing him with the opportunity to graduate from Christ for the Nations Institute with a diploma in pastoral ministry, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Dallas Baptist University.

Throughout his college career, he gained invaluable experience and knowledge to see how Brazilian youth could be exposed at the same time that he was exposed in the United States. There is a large population of crimes, social and economic problems in many Brazilian neighbourhoods; many young minorities are imprisoned or victims of senseless violence in poor communities.

With his own personal meeting with the unfortunate circumstances of life and understanding the importance of education, it is his desire to participate and struggle for change. After years of contemplation, Sosbrazilkids was founded in 2013 as a non-profit organization to benefit its community and country of birth.

Juliana Melo joined SosBrazilKids in 2019, still as a volunteer.

Her teachable heart and dedication to the project have been key points in becoming a part, not only of the team, of the family.Wedded to Jonatas Dias since 2020, Juliana has been entrusted with the challenge of the 2nd generation.

Overcoming challenges requires people with different perspectives and willingness to take risks. Juliana Melo emerged from a quest to inspire and sustain the community, and a desire to act to speak louder than words.​
